Scope and Contents This collection contains an autobiographical account of Leila Woolwine Johnson's life and her family in Dodge City Kansas, focusing primarily on the years from 1907 through the 1920s. 36 postcards, mostly related to various holidays and events, such as Valentine's Day, Christmas, and Easter. There are also documents related to the Student Army Training Corps from Washburn College in 1918, a Chase and Sanborn Coffee advertisement, and a document related to the pioneer parade in Dodge City, Kansas. There is also a souvenir from Pueblo containing images of Native American people.

Content Description

This collection is made up of post cards from France during World War I, most of which have embroidered patterns on the front. These patterns are often either patriotic or shows of unity between France and their allies in World War I. Messages on the cards were written by U.S. soldier John W. Williamson Jr. to his sister and his mother. There are also handkercheifs and doilies, many of which are embroidered as souvenirs from France.
