Scope and Contents

Six almanacs, mostly from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Four of the six almanacs were produced by Reverend Irl R. Hicks. There is also an almanac from 1959 in the collection. These almanacs contained information on weather, astronomy, and calendars, as well as some predictions and forecasts for the year to come. Ayer's 20th Century Almanac, also included in this collection, contains predictions for the entire 20th century.

Content Description This collection contains a draft manuscript and notebook created in the making of the book Land of the Post Rock: Its Origins, History, and People. This book is about the region of North-Central Kansas where limestone rocks were used as fenceposts.
