Biographical / Historical
The Agricultural Adjustment Act was a law passed in 1933 as part of the New Deal in the administration of President Franklin Roosevelt. This law was intended to provide economic relief for farmers through reduction of surplus crop production to help correct market prices of the crops without hurting consumers and while supporting farmers. These photographs were taken as part of these efforts.
