Scope and Contents

This collection contains three postcards from the Curteich-Chicago Company in the 1930s, which document a few different locations in Dodge City at the time. These locations include Boot Hill and the Cowboy Statue. One of the postcards is a more generic "Greetings from Dodge City" post card.

Biographical / Historical

The Curt Teich Company - which also operated under the names Curteich Chicago, C.T. American Art, and C.T. Art-Colortone - was founded by Curt Teich in 1898 in Chicago, Illinois. As the world's largest printer of postcards, they produced numerous cards featuring locations from throughout the United States, including multiple locations in Dodge City. The company was also notable for producing postcards via the offset printing process, and in the 1930s they began producing linen postcards.
